Hi there, they are stainless , i got them from a local supplier, the thread size for the cover is m8, the waterpump is m6. Stock Thanks Stock... ;) You gonna paint the heads as well mate...got some black VHT high temp spray for mine, thought it was worth tryin.. Guess I will have to wait and see ho...

is the gearstick the standard one or a short shift type? std shouldnt really buzz but the 'performance' ones will vibrate some what. Got to agree with you there Glyn had the same thing happen to me with red hammerite. As you say blue goes on great and so does black but there's just summat about red it's just pants...thin as pisswater no matter how many coats you put on. Ended up taking it back to the local factors and swapped it ...

Just take the wire off the sender unit and put that to earth..if the guage is working OK the needle should jump to the top.
