Re: Fuse box queries

Hi, I should have explained a little better, the picture shows the fuses no 1 on the left, 7 on the right.
7 is the windscreen washers with nothing on 1 or 2. What do people use these for?

Re: Handbrake adjustment

Thanks for the info Danny,

The only issue is that the handbrake lever is quite high before having any effect. There’s a slack in the cable so thought I’d try and get rid of that before investigating further.

Re: Horn Location

I’ve tried all of the above, I don’t think I’m getting power to the horns positive wire and am not 100% sure which fuse is for the horn (this is also ongoing!), I’m tempted to order a cheap horn just so I can take that out of the equation.

Handbrake adjustment

Today has been a busy day! While waiting for replies to my electric issues I thought I’d look at adjusting my handbrake cable. I tried following the Haines manual direction however the description is pretty poor and pictures even worse. The picture is showing what is fitted to the car, could anyone ...

Re: Rear wiper

That’s great Danny thanks, I hadn’t noticed that at all, any ideas where the second wire goes to though, does it go to the breaker switch you mentioned?

Rear wiper

Hello!

Next on the list of unearthing electric issues is my rear window wiper. The motor has two wires, one I traced to the connection at the boot jack, the other as the picture shows goes to nothing! Does the second wire go to earth or a second connection somewhere else?

Thanks,

Owen

Fuse box queries

Good morning! Thought I’d go and try and figure out my fuse box this morning and have had mixed results. I’ve worked out that no’s 1 and 2 are permanently live, 5,6 and 7 are live with 2 turns of the key and 3 and 4 are live when the lights are operated. Here’s what I don’t know (amongst other thing...

Re: Horn Location

Quick update, found the horn where Andrew said, just trying to figure out if it’s the horn or wiring that’s knackered.

Horn Location

Evening all, I’m new to the forum having just bought my 1983 1.6LS last month. I have a few things to sort for an MOT one of which is that the horn doesn’t work. I think the problem is that there isn’t one fitted as I can’t locate it in the engine bay. My Haines manual is sketchy at best and my goog...
