Re: Custom exhaust advice for a pinto.

I picked up a 2.8 system.
Cut the front leg and flipped it 180.
Connected both to a y pieve to the 4-2-1 pinto manifold.

Wiring now. 2 conduits run the hidden wires. One is the stock stuff like lights etc. The other is the ecu stuff. https://s26.postimg.org/usdmzejzt/20171215_214501.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/igaqlww55/20171215_220138.jpg I've deleted all the the federal start inhibitors from the system. Re: Canada MKI Capri- restotime

Just getting better and better :) Thanks! I ditched all the blue hoses I had and contacted a Chinese hose manufacturer. I gave them a list and they sent me a whole heap of black hoses for a few dollars each. They don't normally deal to the public but being nice does get you somewhere. https://s26.p...

Re: Waterless coolent

Really.... don't bother. If running a race car that has the head ported to death and you getting hot spots around the exhaust ports causing localised boiling then go for it as the waterless coolant has a higher boiling pount.

Re: Canada MKI Capri- restotime

Glass in. That chrome strip is tough to install. I didn't use the corner pieces, just 45d them real tidy which looks better imo. Got the dash fascia attached. Some m4 Allen bolts secure it. Happy how it turned out. Forgot to paint the petrol cap. Doh! https://s26.postimg.org/sbwuaekvt/20171009_21240...

Re: Canada MKI Capri- restotime

Thanks! Trying to hook up handbrake but need more leverage to engage the rear caliper pistons. Also have the steering system done. I sacrificed a column but didn't hack the pedal box apart by putting the motor in the engine bay. I have since painted it with a rubberized undercoating to make it more ...

Re: Canada MKI Capri- restotime

Cheers lads. Tried to paint the front of the car and the engine bay over the weekend. All my work so far has been horizontal so the vertical stuff was a balls! Runs all over the show. Sanded back tonight and another go tomorrow. The mother I law landed over so I had to get the painted panels into th...

Re: Canada MKI Capri- restotime

I bought it for 50 canadian dollars on local buy and sell.. i actually made money on it... the Holset will do the job way better. It was an emusa brand turbo... The Honda kids run them hard and het good results. If it lasts a year good enough.. just buy another for pennies and away you go. They can ...

Re: Canada MKI Capri- restotime

This whole painting malarkey is very frustrating.. I've sanded off more paint than actually got on the panels. Perseverance is key here. http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu336/craigorypeck/20170609_212841_zpsvcmn1mxg.jpg http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu336/craigorypeck/20170626_215800_zpsdjbn...

Re: Considering a 2.8i overseas

Does that include brokerage fees and what about import duty.? Are you located close to the east coast?? I'd seek out a capri on this side of the Atlantic if possible. There are some not many but some are around.

There are a few here.

Re: Considering a 2.8i overseas

You can import a car to the US for a grand!! How.....?? I'll bring my Mk 3 over too.. Cheapest via container (as it would have to be loaded to train for last part of the journey) was 6k euros from Dublin to Toronto to Edmonton. I have the detailed pricing from shipping company and it added up fast.....

Re: Canada MKI Capri- restotime

Thanks, I'm trying to hit serious power but also look good in the process! I couldn't find anything for engine mounts that I was happy with. The stock ones certainly wouldn't last. If I didn't have drive line angles set up with stock mounts I'd go for those thread spool type mounts and fabricate the...
