Re: 1979 Capri 2.0 "Ghia"

Re: 1979 Capri 2.0 "Ghia"

I'm turning my attention to the Temp, Fuel & Oil gauges now as the dash is still apart so if i need to pull the clocks this would be a good time i guess. My dials look like this when the ignition or car is on (Fuel rises from nothing to full, I have been keeping the tank full but when i got the ...

Re: 1979 Capri 2.0 "Ghia"

interesting you mention the earth I've not moved any earths etc since working on the car but i've always thought its odd how my battery seems to be the other way round to most. I dont think my positive lead would reach that far either. Just noticed you earth strap above the dizzy. definitely missing...

Re: 1979 Capri 2.0 "Ghia"

I have not checked the line running from tank to fuel. If i pull that off should i expect to see fuel? and how best would you check they're clear? i dont have any compressors or anything yet. It was running before and drove it briefly two months ago. It did like to cut out at lights a lot unless it ...

Re: 1979 Capri 2.0 "Ghia"

Ok so today i pulled off the pipe to the carb and had my glamorous assistant turn it over while i had the pipe in a jar... no fuel came out. She gave it a few cranks and nothing happened. Checked it twice to make sure. I'm assuming it would be pretty instant but then again the car has been sat for a...

Re: 1979 Capri 2.0 "Ghia"

Cheers guys! Is there anyway to test the fuel pump? i'm wondering if this is going bad and not feeding petrol up to the carb? i guess adding this will test that but it does like to cut out randomly at times.

Re: 1979 Capri 2.0 "Ghia"

Can you move the bottom flap by operating the lever without the cable connected? if so then you should be able to set up the movement by the cable. If you give me a bell at the workshop I'll try to talk you through it. I never disconnect the cables when I'm building the heaters, I set them up while...

Starmag 13” Alloys (7x13x6) Falken Tyres

Starmag 13” Alloys (7x13x6) with 185/60 R13 pretty much brand new Falken Tyres on them. RWD offset. Wheels are in great condition with only a couple of kerb nicks (you'd have to get close to see) and Tyres excellent. These came off my new Ford Capri mk3 and only selling as they don't suit the style ...

Re: 1979 Capri 2.0 "Ghia"

It is yeah. I bought it for £6 with an old inspection light at a car boot sale. added some oil/new wick and its working great.

Fingers crossed if the weather holds out i'll have the heater back in the car (or at least to test). Just need to find a bullet connector for the Cig lighter

Re: 1979 Capri 2.0 "Ghia"

Today a box from Capri Gear turned up with all the stuff to recondition my heater blower. New Motor, Matrix , Resistor and foam. My only concern is will these blue connectors handle the power for the Resistor? Also i'm looking to use one on the cig lighter. IMG_2040.jpeg IMG_2041.jpeg IMG_2042.jpeg ...
