Re: expansion tank on a 3.0 ?
The late 3.0S had small head radiators like those fitted to a 4 clyinder and then had an expansion tank located on the firewall just like a 4 cylinder. So yes it can be done. Im guessing you have the big head radiator in this case. The big head rads suffer from corrosion and splitting on the big hea...

Re: Best Exhaust System?
Personally I think the janspeed is the best exhaust. I have an ashley on a pinto, a custom on a 3.0 and a janspeed on a 2.8. The custom one sounds the best but it really depends who makes it. For a pinto or 2.8 i would go janspeed stainless steel. They fit great and sound great, plus they don't dron...

Re: Bias valve
I would think you should change to the 2.8 or at least 2.0 servo. The problem with your setup I think is the fact that your using a smaller master cylinder which is trying to push more fluid to the bigger brakes. The brakes on a 2.8 aren't very different to a 2.0 but even so if Ford thought you need...

Bias valve
Just a quick and general question. The bias valve on a 2.8 what's the difference between this and one off a sierra. I'm running bigger brakes but there's no point in changing the bias valve if the 2.8 one can do the job.

Re: resister
It sounds like the voltage regulator, its on the back of the dash panel and secured by a single screw. There are two types the later version is apparently more reliable. Best place to try for one is capri gear

Re: 3.0 Cooling
Ok good call, it is not the original hose so could be that its too narrow internally. I have ordered a replacement rad cap to eliminate this possibility as they are only 4 quid. In the mean time i will try to eliminate the hose as the issue. Thanks for your help so far.

Re: 3.0 Cooling
Firstly thanks for the replies guys. The problem is the hose can't be blocked because it has actually pumped the water out of the rad into the expansion bottle. I've just been out and despite the engine still being a bit warm the level in the expansion tank has actually dropped. Would i therefore be...

3.0 Cooling
Got a bit of a strange cooling issue on my 3.0. Just got back from a 500 mile round trip. Car performed brilliantly with the temperature gauge staying spot on half way the whole trip even in stand still traffic it only raised slightly above half and today was a hot day. However when i got back and p...

Re: caprisport
We have fitted brake kits from Compbrake and have had no problems with them, customer service is good. Tell them what you want and they will put together a kit, no pissing around modifying and such like. Thanks for the heads up i have emailed them to ask them what they can do that will fit inside a...

Re: caprisport
This is very worrying, i was thinking of ordering the brembo 300 system from them soon but now im having second thoughts. I was really looking for some absolute top quality brakes which fit inside the original brookie wheels to go on a 280 and these seemed to really fit the bill but if they are of p...

Re: The 2.8 injection - white with black vinyl roof
When this was tailored to its new home did it by any chance use the A1 (M) early march/ late february? Cause i saw a white mk3 with black vinyl roof and what looked like injection stripes on the back of a trailor when i was coming back from peterborough. Either way looks a great car, i could be wron...

Re: so much choice so little room... help?
I agree 2.0 is the way to go. They all have benefits but i think the 2.0 is probably the best all rounder, especially as you can always move on to the others later but 2.0 is just a really good solid strong dependable reliable engine which is pretty fast too. The 3.0 can tune up to some pretty big h...

Re: Big Brake master cylinder
Cheers i think thats what ill do, they aint that expensive so even if it proves to not be enough its not the end of the world. And can always bite the bullet and just go 2.0 servo and land rover master cylinder if necessary. Would be great to know which merc master cylinder it is though that apparen...

Re: What exhaust for a 3.0??
I've got a custom one on mine and it just sounds brilliant. I bought it second hand though so if it were my money id go janspeed. Might be more expensive but the stainless steel means it will outlast the metal its attached to. Otheriwse get some custom quotes but i think its a bit hit and miss with ...

Big Brake master cylinder
Hi Im trying to find out about a mercedes master cylinder that bolts onto the 2.8 servo. Im aware of all the 2.0 servo land rover master cylinder stuff but would be useful to know about this mercedes one aswell. Apparently there is a merc MS which bolts straight onto the 2.8 servo because they are b...

Re: Heater Resistor
Im not overly fussed about my one although i do know the board itself is broken and the fact that it runs fast on both speeds doesn't fill me with confidence in it, but for the future it could be a useful endeavor to find out a way of doing it as no capris are getting younger. I do know a auto elect...
