Re: Weber 34 ICH

Hi there.

The carb may be "brand new" but has it been sat on a shelf for a long time?

When the engine is running and starts "overfuelling" try gently tapping the side of the carb to see if that solves it.
A simple test/fix which costs nothing. :D

Re: Trouble Bleeding Brakes following MC Rebuild

Hi EightyFive, I’m in the process of overhauling an “ATE” master cylinder which is slightly different to the one described in the Laser Page however, they must be similar in operation. You say, After a few pumps there felt like some resistance, followed by a ‘dong’ sound, in any case it didn’t feel ...

Alright, maybe it`s over the top: removable bollards, 3 sets of locks, alarm and pager but so what - nobody gets that car!
You could also put the car on axle stands and take the wheels and jack home.

Re: M16 brake calipers

Thanks for the prompt reply Steve. (It was a semi-rhetorical question.) :D It can`t be that hard can it? That's the way I see it, after all it's only four UNF bolts and an O-ring. the fluid channel between the 2 halves *may* leak after reassembly On the other side, if the caliper is split to replace...

M16 Bake Calipers,

Hi folks.
Does anyone know the reason why the brake calipers on a Capri shouldn't be split?

Thanks in advance.

Hi CapriFreak, Judging by the photos those discs look as though they're shagged. However, what you could do - as a form of fault diagnosis is, (if you have an old pair of pads lying around) slot them in and go for a test drive. If the sound disappears or changes then it could point to the discs. It ...

Hi D366Y Did this problem occur after you had changed a bulb? I'm sure you knew that, on a double-filament bulb on a Capri and any other car of this era, the locating pins are diametrically opposite but are at different lengths from the contact face, as in the photo. A couple of months ago I discove...

When you buy something and your wife asks you..
"so why did you actually buy this then" ???
What about,
"So I can clean into the corners of the windows for you my dear."
