Re: 3.0 Brake Disc advice.

Hi CapriFreak, Judging by the photos those discs look as though they're shagged. However, what you could do - as a form of fault diagnosis is, (if you have an old pair of pads lying around) slot them in and go for a test drive. If the sound disappears or changes then it could point to the discs. It ...

Re: Rear light problem

Hi D366Y Did this problem occur after you had changed a bulb? I'm sure you knew that, on a double-filament bulb on a Capri and any other car of this era, the locating pins are diametrically opposite but are at different lengths from the contact face, as in the photo. A couple of months ago I discove...

When you buy something and your wife asks you..
"so why did you actually buy this then" ???
What about,
"So I can clean into the corners of the windows for you my dear."

Re: Not starting.

 Error! I wrote, I think it’s somewhere in this 6v side of the system where your problem could lie. :twak: The 6v should be deleted, it should read, "I think it’s somewhere in this side of the system where your problem could lie." The solenoid and ignition switch are normally 12v.) Sorry!

Re: Not starting.

Hi cahootchy, I am also interested in what you term “electronic pack” We have a Mk 3 2.3S however, I believe the standard system is similar to yours. As you know there is the main power cable direct from the battery to the starter solenoid. A smaller red cable feeds from this connection on the solen...

Re: Princess Brake Calipers.

Hi Liverpool, :welcome: What you describe occasionally happens with Ford brakes. I’m talking about Escorts, Capris etc. from the 70s. I seem to remember that I had this problem with an Escort Mexico and it was solved by someone recommending to keep the pressure on the brake pedal overnight or even l...

This is exactly what I have done. A couple of small blobs of superglue then, checked continuity and it seems OK.
I haven't used conductive paint but it does seem like a good tip.

All the best.

The bottom line to all this is:
if you have the time, it pays to shop around.

At first, I thought as I have a left-hand-drive car I wouldn't be allowed to vote.

Hi steve, Is that just stress or is there some corrosion on the other side too? Something else to worry about. I believe the problem is both fatigue and a little corrosion. I had a similar problem. Like you I cleaned and degreased around the cracks after which my son welded them. The welded joints w...

Re: Bad clutch or adjustment? Also strange noise.

Hi CapriFreak Thanks for your response. I’ve watched parts of your YouTube videos, which answers a couple of questions I had. You seem to want to tackle almost anything yourself and you’ve got a 2.0 Pinto engine. According to info I’ve got, if your engine is 1974/75: Idle 700 +/- 25rpm – Ign. Timing...
