Yeh i had noticed , if the engine was under maximum load, a vibrating type noise but tough to hear if it was from the center of the car or from the rear..i assumed it was the bump stops , as its lower than my other capri , and assumed under acceleration it couldnt go any more , so just vibrated inst...

The day after i posted I was under the car, and the starter motors pinion gear, moves along the shaft, attempting to mesh with the flywheel ring gear, but doesnt, and unfortunately underneath i could see non meshing gears , and small ammounts of metal filings falling underneath. Cheers Andrew! Done a little google and they reckon its near the front of the engine, i'm looking for a brass connector, ill snap my elecrical measuring tool on the end with the ignition on and check for a 5v reading, got lots of capri jobs to do today hehe , thanks!

Hello , My only gauge on my 1.6 body , 2.0 powered capri, that does not work, is my engine temperature gauge. My heater also doesnt work at all.
