Re: Rear axle problems

Bit of a strange one this.... :headscratch:

So the only new components are the rubbers. Some of the holes in the rubbers look like they are off-set. Are they definitely the correct bushes and are they fitted in the correct locations?

Pumas have an aluminium gear knob as standard and they do get bloody cold in winter!

Re: An annoying new "feature" of modern cars.

They’re called kerb lights and yes, they are pretty pointless. I seem to notice them mostly on VAG products and Mercs.

They’re not nearly as annoying as electronic parking brakes though!

Re: FWD CAPRI ANYONE?

The Probe didn't set the world on fire either, and that was so polite as a car it couldn't possibly offend anyone. I think the mass-market for a medium sized coupe was very much reduced by the late 80s. Hence however good the Probe / Cougar / Calibra had been, they were destined to be niche sellers...

https://www.facebook.com/Silodrome/videos/1459993400735933/ It's all in the name isn't Nige :D I loved Mansell's short stint in touring cars. Complete change in the car but he still knew how to do it. 19th to 1st in the rain, fabulous! I remember watching that race on (I think) ITV. Supertourers we...

Re: Alloy Wheel sealant.

I use Autoglym custom wheel cleaner every so often which is the least aggressive wheel cleaner they do. I originally bought it for the GF’s ST200 as it’s safe on diamond cut alloys but it’s all I use now. As Bug pointed out it will remove any sealants etc. so I only use it occasionally, probably mor...

Re: Alloy Wheel sealant.

The beading looks good! It seems to be a very popular product so I expect it will perform well. It’s always good seeing these things being put to the test though.

Re: Alloy Wheel sealant.

I used to use Autoglym wheel protector (the aerosol type) and that worked well. It's also easy to apply as you simply spray it on and leave it to cure. The only reason I don't use it anymore is that it isn't suitable for dark coloured wheels.... I used to just about get away with it on the Rado Grey...

Re: Is anybody breaking a MK3 Granada?

.... Don't ask! Oh go on Mark ... what's happened? It’s not actually an exciting story Peter, I’ve not rolled it or anything! The doors on MK3’s freeze shut at this time of year in Newcastle, and I’ve pulled the door seal away from the edge of the roof. Or rather, I pulled the door seal and the edg...

Re: I just drove the new GT86..

A Fiesta ST for example is cheaper, faster and more practical so that’s what the kids go for The Capri is practical too. Just ask anybody who had one back in the day, they'll tell you that the boot is plenty big enough for a bag of sand or concrete block! :D Andrew. Haha yes quite.... Ironically Ca...

cheaper, faster and more practical Being a nice looking RWD fastback coupe is more important than those things imo! Don’t get me wrong we all have different priorities; cheaper and faster will no doubt feature quite highly on the list of most young petrol heads though! It’s like a modern day Capri ...

He certainly should have been locked up.... It sounds like the judge actually felt sorry for him! And what of the person who put him under pressure to commit this crime? My main concern is; where’s the deterrent?
