Re: Heat Guns

The prices for the bare tools are crazy! Angle grinders are a bit like die grinders, sanders etc. in that if I’m using one it will be near a mains supply and probably for a prolonged period of time so I’ve never gone down the cordless route. They’re obviously good of you need to take one out and abo...

Re: Heat Guns

I mean for a tenner what have you got to use? I'm sure the branded stuff has it's values if you use it all day everyday but for us at-home project-car DIY-ers I'm sure it will do me fine... If not, I'll get my money back in the next three years if it fails in the three times I use it in that period...

Re: Heat Guns

Honestly, you should have a better opinion of aldi tools, I've bought stuff which is better than comparable items from the expensive names such as Bosch. A cordless hammer drill I got for example, is far better than any named similar one I have tried. I was that impressed and it was such good value...

Re: Heat Guns

if it doesn’t work or goes pop straight away you should be able to exchange it I wouldn't worry, it comes with a whopping 3 year guarantee. Like most Aldi tools, it is far better than you might think, seems like a very decent piece of kit. Comes with several accessories too. Yes that’s the good thi...

Re: Heat Guns

For that price it’s probably worth a go, if it doesn’t work or goes pop straight away you should be able to exchange it easily enough (or get a refund). All I’d say is don’t expect much, and for £25 you can get an Earlex one from Screwfix....

Re: CRaP 2020 July 3/4/5

Like most things at present it’s impossible to plan ahead.... I’m flexible really in terms of dates, personally I think July is a little optimistic so why not say August and then September subject to what happens over the coming weeks? This may be the only holiday some people manage this year so I t...

Yes they look like M8 x 1.25. Unless they used fine (1.0) pitch. I still have some pinto heads including a late Sierra one but they’re not at the house otherwise I’d check....

I haven’t even seen the famous Stagecoach bus liveried one for a while (yes you did read that right!). I was curious so I just had to look.... https://i.postimg.cc/GmSChWgc/untitled.png Andrew. That’s the one! :xd: Funnily enough we live a couple of minutes from where that photo was taken.

If someone spat in my face rest assured they wouldn't ever do it to anyone again unless they can do it from beyond the grave Wayne I believe there are some types of undead that can exude toxin from the mouth. They will also be exuding my knuckles from their mouth too :xd: Too right I don’t think I’...

Re: 1.6 GL Anyone?

I have one around the corner from me that appeared last year, a 4 speed 2.0 S. It was immaculate but a bit of rust has appeared over winter so I presume it had been restored but not very well protected unfortunately.... I very rarely see any others, I haven’t even seen the famous Stagecoach bus live...

Re: Series/Box Sets Worth Watching

@ Taff50ish I watched Deutschland 83 as well when it was first shown, well worth watching I agree. We have just finished season 3 of Gomorrah and it is very good. It’s pretty dark and very few if any of the characters are likeable which makes it quite unusual and bit a unsettling; you get to know th...

Re: Color for my late father's car

Hi guy's, Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but here's a picture of my dad's car now painted in Black. IMG-20200331-WA0004.jpg Wayne I'm sure it will look great. To be honest I think everybody likes a black Capri, the advice to stick with the original colour was more due to it's rarity (I'd have stay...

Re: What are you cooking in these days of wartime restrictions?

Well the pork leg was a success! I wrapped it in three layers of foil and put it skin side down, really so that the skin would protect the meat but i timed it to perfection (by pure luck) and ended up with lovely crackling and tender meat. A good result really. It’s all trial and error as I’ve no id...

Re: What are you cooking in these days of wartime restrictions?

I’m going to attempt to cook a pork leg joint in the garden waste incinerator tomorrow. I think I’ll wrap the whole thing in foil and just chuck it in, then add small amounts of fuel (i.e. pieces of pallet!) just to maintain the temperature. I’ll stick some herbs and a couple of cloves of garlic in ...

Re: What are you cooking in these days of wartime restrictions?

You really couldn’t make it up, we had our kitchen ripped out at the weekend and they’re supposed to be fitting the new one next week once the walls are plastered and the plumbing and electrics are rejigged.... So we’re not cooking much and won’t be for quite a few weeks I suspect.... Fortunately th...
