Thanks Noel.
You are quite correct,,025" it is. But I still think that is big as most gaps I work with are,015" and the car does not like the big gap. so I have put it back to ,015"

Contact breaker points gap
I have a MK1 Capri. My workshop manual states the contact breaker gap as .025" which is very large compared to normal cars of say.015" Is this a mistake? When I set the gap at 0.25" the car does not run as smoothly as when I set it at 0.15" I would be interested as to what other ...

Re: Interior Light
Any idea where I can obtain the interior courtesy light for my MK1 Capri. They have both disintegrated and do not seem to be available. Otherwise assuming that these were quite common to other cars of the era is it possible to get something to fit?

Brake master cylinder
On my 1972 Mk1 Capri brake fluid is leaking between the plastic reservoir and the brake master cylinder. I cannot see the type of seal and I am reluctant to take it apart in case the seals break and I cannot repair it. It would appear that one can only buy the complete unit which is expensive and no...

Re: Oil pressure switch
Hi Andrew. Yes I guess it is. And presumably is electrically operated? My car is a 1972 Kent engine GT so probably before the thread change. Thanks for your help.

Oil pressure switch
The oil pressure switch on my MK1 Kent engine is not working. It appears to be electrically operated. Can anyone tell me where to get a replacement.
I am new to the Capri and so far have not got a workshop manual. Can anyone tell me the best place to buy spares.

How to remove the rear seat
I have just purchased a 1972 Mk1 Capri GT and one of the first jobs I have to do is to take out the rear seat. The seat itself presents no problem but I am baffled as to how to remove the rear part. I don't suppose I am the first person to come up against this problem.
